Released in 1994 as the first single from Pearl Jam's third studio LP, Vitalogy, "Spin the Black Circle" was a punk rock ode to vinyl records that earned the band its only Grammy award to date. Presented to former Pearl Jam drummer Dave Abbruzzese in commemoration of the sale of 250,000 copies of the band's 1992 debut LP in Germany. Pearl Jam "Jeremy" MTV VMA Award to Dave Abbruzzese.
The third single from Pearl Jam's 1992 debut album Ten, "Jeremy" achieved modest success on the music charts but achieved strong notoriety by way of its music video. Directed by Mark Pellington, it quickly found its way into heavy rotation on MTV, and helped launch Pearl Jam into the mainstream. The video won four MTV Video Music Awards in 1993: Best Video of the Year, Best Group Video, Best Metal/Hard Rock Video, and Best Direction. This "moon man" Video of the Year statuette was presented to Pearl Jam drummer Dave Abbruzzese, and comes directly from his personal collection. The award is in Very Fine to Excellent condition with some areas of scuffing and tarnishing.
